American Legion Auxiliary Spirt of Youth Scholarship for Junior Members 2017- 5, $5000 scholarships awarded to candidates who have ben a junior member of The American Legion Auxiliary for the past three consecutive years. Joyce Ashe Scholarship-Deadline March 3, 2017- Application is available in the guidance office-any adult or high school student going into a higher education or certificate program which may include but not limited to special education, occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech and language therapy.


Dottie Harvey Memorial Scholarship- Students who residents of Clinton County who meet the following criteria: scholarship, citizenship, personality, leadership, perseverance, resourcefulness, general worthiness, financial need, extracurricular participation and awards.-Deadline March 15, 2017-Applications are avalible in the guidance office.

2017 ASCE Mohawk-Hudson Scholarship-For any high school senior who is seeking to continue their education in a civil engineering program. 4 $1000 scholarships will be awarded-Deadline March 31, 2017-Applications are available in the guidance office.

Champlain Valley Morgan Horse Association-(2) $250 scholarships. A graduating senior who is accepted to a two or four year accredited college. Preference will be given to students who will be pursuing an Equine or Agricultural field of study but not limited to those fields. Academic performance and financial need will be considered. James Dean Wilson Memorial Scholarship- One $500 scholarship is available to any student graduating from Northern Adirondack Central School in June 2017 who will be attending Clinton Community College in the Fall 2017 semester. The award can be used to to purchase textbooks or applied to tuition expenses. Scholarship winners must attend the Strides for James event on May 13, 2107. Applications can be found online at  http://www.clinton.edu/alumni/scholarshipprogram.cxml  or in the Guidance office. Applications are due no later than April 18, 2017.

AGATI-Laborers's Local 322 Scholarship Application: (1)$1500 which is renewable up to $6000. To be eligible the applicant must be a member of the former Local 322 or former Local 186 or the son, daughter, or spouse ofa current retired, disabled, or deceased member. The applicant must plan on pursuing higher education, have a record of academic achievement and display evidence of helping themselves educationally and financially. Bruce L. Crary Foundation Scholarship-Deadline April 28, 2017-Applicants must reside in Clinton, Franklin, Hamilton or Warren County. Applicants must be income- qualified and in need of financial assistance, annual adjusted gross income can not exceed $80,000. Children of school administrators are not eligible. Applications are to be submitted online at:  http://www.craryfoundation.org/

CVPH Foundation Scholarship-one $1000 scholarship available to any graduating senior at Northern Adirondack who will be entering a health care field of study such as nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, pharmacy, radiology school, etc. Applications are available in the Guidance Office and due no later than April 30, 2017.


May Deadlines

Dr. Karl and Ruth Kramer Northeastern Zone New York State Retired Teachers Association Scholarship-(2) $500 scholarships are available one in Clinton County and one in Essex County. Student must be accepted to a post secondary institution and be pursuing a career in the field of education. Students with demonstrated financial need and high school average of B or higher will be given preference.  Applications are available in the guidance office and are due no later than May 1, 2017.

Clinton County Canine Club-Fay S. Kolz Memorial Scholarship Fund-Deadline May 1, 2017-For students majoring in animal science who will be attending a two or four year accredited institution applications are available in the guidance office.


Clinton County American Legion “76″ Scholarship

Amount:  (2) $200

Eligibility:  1.  Children of a member of the American Legion, Sons of the American Legion or Ladies Auxiliary.  2.  Grandchildren of a member of the American Legion, Sons of the American Legion or Ladies Auxiliary.  The member must be a paid up member in good standing.  The student must have been accepted to either a 2 or 4 year college, either full or part time.  The student must show financial need.  An essay with a minimum of 100 words “Why I Want This Scholarship” must be submitted.

The Clinton County Board or Realtor's Scholarships-Two scholarships are available-One $1000 scholarship available to any Clinton County graduating senior who is planning on continuing their education at any post secondary institution. One $500 scholarship available to any graduating senior who plans to continue their education at Clinton Community College.  Applications for both scholarships are available in the Guidance Office. Completed applications must be received no later than May 1, 2017 and must be mailed to: Scholarship Committee, C/o Clinton County Board of Realtors, 25 Margaret Street Suite 2, Plattsburgh, NY 12901.

Jane Boswell Memorial Scholarship- Two $500 scholarship awarded to any graduating senior who intends to major in a program leading to teaching certification. Applications are due to the guidance office no late than
May 3, 2017, applications received after May 10, 2017 will not be reviewed.
 Applications are available in the Guidance Office. 

School Administrators Association of New York State (SAANYS) Educational Scholarship

Amount:  $150

Graduating seniors whose parent or guardian is a member of SAANYS.

Scholarships will be awarded to the children of current members of SAANYS. Each scholarship award will be at least $150. Details regarding the scholarship are on the form.

Clinton County Farm Bureau Scholarship-D
eadline May 11, 2017 Any Clinton County Student who is planning on attending a two or four year college or university in the field of agricultural or agricultural business- Applications are available in the Guidance Office.


Donald DeVirgeles Memorial Scholarships- Any student with and 80% or better GPA who plans on attending a two or four year college and majoring in Mathematics or Business who writes an essay describing why they are financially deserving of a scholarship. Applicant does not have to be a member of the Adirondack Federal Credit Union. More information is available in the Guidance Office. Must be received by May 12 ,2017.

The Sarah S. Vert Student Fund Committee-Deadline May 12, 2017
A fund to help any Clinton County student who is headed to college who is both worthy and needy. Scholarship applications are available in the Guidance Office.

General Harry E. Knight Scholarship Fund-Deadline
May 12, 2017-A fund to help any Clinton County student who is headed to Cornell University who is both worthy and needy. Scholarship applications are available in the Guidance Office.

Dr. Robert McDonald and Mary McDonald Scholarship

Amount: Varies

Eligibility:  Scholarship is for students who are worthy and needed and who have been admitted to a recognized and accredited medical school. Student must be pursuing a degree in medicine and either be enrolled in a premedical program or a graduate course in medicine. Scholarship will first be made available to a City of Plattsburgh student, however if none applies any student in Clinton County is eligible. Aid will continue over the length of their preparation program if they maintain an acceptable academic standing and is still in need of financial assistance. Students can apply for this scholarship at any point of their college career.

The Fraternal Order of Police-Northern Adirondack Lodge 999 Scholarship

Two $250 awards (two students). One time award per student.

 Any Graduating Senior (Clinton, Franklin, or Essex County schools) who is planning on being a Criminal Justice Major at an accredited 2 or 4-year college or university.

Submit one written recommendation from high school teachers, guidance counselor or administrators. Write an essay on career plans/goals (why you have chosen Criminal Justice, your plans for achieving your career goals, etc.) Applications are available  in the guidance office.

Please note: scholarship monies will be paid directly to the college or university for the fall of 2017 semester with a copy of their transcript.

Knights of Columbus Council #4441 Ellenburg Scholarship

Eligibility:
Any graduating  Senior who are an active paid member or whose parent is an active paid member of the Knights of Columbus Council #4441. 

Award: A $200 scholarship that will be paid following completion of the first semester of college with a GPA of 2.5 or better and proof of registration for the second semester.

Applications are available in the guidance office and are due no later than May 31, 2017

Nicole Baker Memorial Scholarship: A $500 scholarship available to any graduating senior who is planning on furthering their education at a State University College or University (4 year SUNY). Students must provide a short personal Biography which includes their personal goals and plans for the future.

Applications are due to the guidance office no later than May 31, 2017

The Area Protestant Christian Churches Scholarship:
Any graduating senior who is active in his/her church and youth activities. Student must be of high moral character in school, church and community and be an abstainer from the use of tobacco, alcohol and drugs. Student must be worthy and needy.

Applications are available in the guidance office and are due no later than May 31, 2017.

The Viola Baxter Scholarship:
Any graduating senior who is active in his/her church and youth activities. Student may be considering a career in the field of education. Student must be worthy and needy.

Applications are available in the guidance office and are due no later than May 31, 2017.

The Rouses Point-Champlain Kiwanis Scholarship
Amount: To be determined
Eligibility:  Any graduating senior at Northeastern Clinton Central school or Northern Adirondack School who has plans to attend a post-secondary college or university. Student must have an overall 90 cumulative average and demonstrate dependability. A letter from an adult who has directly been associated with the student's service work is required. Students must write a short essay on "What community service means to me" 
Applications are available in the guidance office and do no later than May 31, 2017.

June Deadlines

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Committee Annual Scholarship-In Memory of Jacqueleine Creed Archer
A $500 Scholarship awarded to 2017 high school seniors who plan on attending a post-secondary institution. Students must complete an application form, submit a transcript and a 500 word essay on one of the required topics. Applications need to mailed no later than June 1, 2017 to :

Business Club Scholarship: Any graduating senior who is an active member of the Business Club at Northern Adirondack Central School. 

Applications are available in the Guidance office and due no later than June 1, 2017.



Court Little Rose #1300 Scholarship: Any graduating senior who is a child or a grandchild of a Court Little Rose #1300 member who is in good standing. The student should be planning on attending a recognized 1, 2, 3, 4 program. Student have a minimum of a 2.5 GPA following the first semester of college

Applications are available in the Guidance Office and must be returned to the Guidance Office no later than June 6, 2017.

Our Lady  of the Snows #1548 Scholarship: Any graduating senior who is a child of a Our Lady of the Snows #1548 member or in none apply any and all graduating seniors. Students should be planning on attending a 1, 2, 3 or 4 year program at a recognized institution. Grades, rank in class, honors and activities will be used to make the decision. Students should submit one teacher recommendation with the application.

Applications are available in the Guidance Office and due to the Guidance office no later than June 9, 2017.


Horatio Alger National Career & Technical Scholarship Program- Any student who completed high or earned a GED by Spring 2017 who is scheduled to be enrolled in a technical degree/certificate program by Fall 2017. Student must have financial need and be Pell grant eligible. First Deadline June 15, 2017. New York State STEM Scholarship
Eligibility

An applicant must:

  • be a legal resident of NYS and have resided in NYS for 12 continuous months;
  • be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen;
  • be a high school senior/recent high school graduate who will be enrolled full time at a SUNY or CUNY college, including community colleges and the statutory colleges at Cornell University and Alfred University, beginning in the fall term following his or her high school graduation;
  • be ranked in the top 10 percent of his/her high school graduating class of a NYS high school;
  • be matriculated in an undergraduate program leading to a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics at a SUNY or CUNY college;
  • earn a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher each term after the first semester;
  • execute a service contract agreeing to reside and work in NYS for five years in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics. View the terms and conditions of the service contract;
  • not be in default on a student loan made under any NYS or federal education loan program or repayment of any state award; and
  • be in compliance with the terms of any service condition imposed by a state award.

Students matriculated in these programs of study may be eligible for a STEM Incentive Program award. The program of study must result in an approved occupation.

Award Amounts

A recipient receives an annual award for full-time study equal to the annual tuition charged to NYS resident students attending an undergraduate program at the State University of New York (SUNY), or actual tuition charged, whichever is less. For the 2015-2016 academic year, the Standard SUNY Tuition Rate was a maximum of $6,470 per year.

The STEM Incentive Program award will be reduced by the amount of any other tuition-only assistance award, such as the NYS Tuition Assistance Program (TAP), received
